It would make more sense for valve to put the steam deck in Walmart or target where there not as much competition and more foot traffic. Before they focus on putting the steam deck in stores they need to at least get them for sale on Amazon with two day prime delivery. That would boost its visibility and sales quite a bit

This entire community is spoiled, especially the nostalgic fans. I see them sexualize Jill Valentine all because she’s not a soft woman with a soulless personality anymore, she’s a badass with the mind of a man and apparently this community is being sexist towards her. And when it comes to the remakes, nostalgic fans will come up with any excuse to hate on the remakes. It’s unfair criticism and very immature, they say they’re disappointed in Capcom but instead Capcom should be disappointed for what this community has become.

Linux is open source 😂😂 how much more free can you get? On a side note you can buy a steam deck from Walmart but your gunna pay about 2 times the price.

Just needs to be available in all countries. Id have bought one years ago but no valve wont let me have one so i was forced to get a windows handheld. These newer devices are better for sure however if Valve sold them to the general public in the first place the other devices would have remained obscure.

Just ordered a Steam Deck OLED on eBay. I got a nice deal but I don’t think Value needs to do this. Good idea but keep in mind Tesla doesn’t advertise or have dealerships… but there are more Teslas in my area than I can count. Take that as you will 😊

in my country (denmark) you can buy this is big chain stores, but its a horrible deal, every version cost about 2-300euros more than on steam, yet on steam it can be delivered to my country without a delivery fee and there is no import fee,

I disagree on it being the best thing. The Steam Deck’s purpose is to drive Steam store sales and if you play on Steam you’re going to know about the Steam Deck. If you online to research the Ally you’re going to see it any other handheld compared to the Steam Deck. By Valve controlling sales they won’t be dealing change of heart returns, they won’t be dealing with a middle man, and they won’t be making excess inventory to stock hundreds of stores. The Steam Deck’s been doing pretty well by word of mouth so why would Valve need to change. Would it be convenient? Sure. Would it lead to more impulse buys? Sure. But from a business perspective I think what they’re doing is quite smart. What isn’t well known is that you don’t necessarily need a Steam Deck to experience the simplicity of Steam OS. ChimeraOS and Bazzite are both great alternatives for making your own Steam machine

Don't they have sells locations in Asia though?

More eyes on Linux would be a net positive for the entire computing industry, it would cut down on the spyware and licensing, I've already made the switch myself and I am never looking back.

Some people don't trust M$, myself included. In fact I'm running Win7 on one my laptops without any updates for years, using it for daily browsing. Not a darn thing happened, no hacks, no nothing. The brainwashing of companies that you must have the latest version is a bunch of BS.

I don't quite understand this... Nintendo managed to basically do a plug and play with the Switch and the Dock. Why is the docked experience for a much more powerful handheld so complicated?

The only real issue with this game is the stats.....(big boys are not viavle at all) and the aerial physics.

For some it all began in resident evil 1 and some resident evil 2. Okay lets stop there. But after that fans made these one dimensional characters like Chris, Jill, Claire, and Leon, like false messianic heroes and a lot less about survivors as time went by. For them there is no resident evil without these characters. I don’t know how many times they have completed each game, but man somethings gotta give. Nope not for these clowns because every new story in resident evil games, writers have to somehow squeeze in these historic characters. Resident evil code veronica was different because it needed to tie up Claire’s story of finding her brother plus the game had well written memorable characters which made it stand out from the rest. Also it was a pretty looking re game for the ps2 so it would make sense why this was one the most sought after resident evil game. The same goes for resident evil 4 minus the story part. It was pretty much a more light heated and action oriented survival horror. But at the same time being scary. Resident evil 5 was necessary but I felt personally it was rushed to compete with its predecessor resident evil 4. Resident evil 6 was not necessary at all and thats when Capcom should’ve done something completely different but no they continued with more games featuring the same characters again like resident evil revelations. After 7 and 8 which personally are my favourites, we are now stuck again with brainless remakes with 9 being put on hold. But I am excited as a resident evil fan to see what come up next.

I don't mind Windows updates provided I can update it when I choose to - not when MS decides I should (which is normally when I'm busy doing something). But you really need to keep a Windows OS updated due to the inherent security flaws. It's a shame you can't do just security updates on it though.

The switch is primarily for kids. Children could care less about a games graphics. Kids just want to be able to play their games while sitting in the back of the mini van or on the school bus or wherever. This is why the switch still sells more consoles than other handheld platforms. There are more kids who want a handheld gaming system than there are adults who want a high-end handheld with the latest graphics. Even when Nintendo releases the Switch 2, it won't be what adults are looking for. Sure, the graphics may be a little better than the current switch, but Nintendo knows that the primary target audience for the Switch 2 will still be children, and therefore will not invest heavily in trying to make an expensive product marketed for adults with the fastest processors and expensive graphics cards.

When the Steam Deck first came out it ran Elden Ring better than Windows PC. I know there are a few games that ran better on my old PC with a 970 than the Ally. But of course these are the exceptions and not the rule. This is why when doing hardware comparison people will compared multiple games. It's not surprising at all to a PC gamer that sometimes a game could run better on inferior older hardware vs superior newer hardware due to the different combination of hardware and drivers of PC.

Man the only thing that irritate me that my ally outperformed my ps5. Also playing any ps4 game on ps5 or prioritize quality on a game the frames get locked to 30fps 💀.

I have a ally, a laptop and a gaming PC. The ally performs worst by far. But ok for such a small device and price.

I stopped Windows from ever updating... by switching to Linux... :-)

Tthe issue with the game. It's a lazzy put together game that keeps reusing the same material over and over again and gives the illusion of choice. The only weapon/items you'ill ever need to S rank all missions is the tranq gun and fulton device that's is. Best buddy is the D-dog that's it. People call it the déjà vu of war for doing the same meanigless stuff over and over and call it brilliant for that. I call that lazzy af. You can feel the disagreement Kojima and Konami had when making this game. Story was ok (not the best mgs story), gameplay was awesome, but the maps sucked, the missions sucked, FOB sucked, online sucked. I can not give this game more then a 6 (but i could have been an 8 because the gameplay is so damn good) and calling it a masterpiece is completely unjustified when in that same year true masterpieces came out like the wicther 3 wild Hunt or bloodborne par example.

Windows updates only come out once a month. The 2nd Tuesday of every month. I don't understand what the issue is.

I have updated the ally, no problems so far.. except that latest amd graphics (with the fluid frames stuff) totally destroys forza motosport and other titles.

Oh wow Witcher 3 works with untouched graphics ? WUT. i need to bring out my rog ally. What i really wanted was to play my jrpg rpgmaker games but i just couldnt get the controls working. So i gave up lol. Pretty much bought and haven't used more then an hour. Maybe ill finally use it now to atleast play the Witcher 3 that i got on steamsale.
